about

Grim first appeared on the scene in 2003, with a handful of interpretations of Erik Satie’s Gymnopédies and Gnossiennes. The resulting album, Take Your Seat, was a lo-fi production with a raw but glowing sound. It got good press, and so the band played, among other things, at the Festival van Vlaanderen, the Domino Festival, the Feeërieën, and De Nachten. They also supported Die Anarchistische Abendunterhaltung, Explosions in the Sky, Lali Puna, At The Close of Every Day, and Vaya Con Dios. With Dani Klein, Grim recorded a little Satie waltz, Je Te Veux, on her 2004 album The Promise.

Grim Leuven, Belgium

Grim is a Belgian trio (Rhodes, guitar & drums) who elevate classical music to post-rock. The band attracted attention with their two previous albums: one exploring Erik Satie’s famous Gymnopédies and Gnossiennes, and another devoted to Arvo Pärt’s Für Alina and Spiegel im Spiegel. Now Grim returns with a third album, Requiem, based on the Préludes and Marche Funèbre by Frédéric Chopin. ... more
